Renewing Your CEHS Certification

Once you have achieved your CEHS credential, it will need to be renewed every two years.

To renew, you will need to complete and send in an application for renewal, submit your documentation of the continuing education units (CEU’s) for the previous 2 years totaling 2.4 CEU’s or 24 credit hours, and pay a fee of $15.

"Continuing Education Unit" means the value given for ten contact hours (1 CEU) of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction approved by the board. So, 2.4 CEU’s means you have spent 24 contact hours in an approved educational course or experience.

Contact information for submit renewal documents can be found on the application or under the section “Certification Board Members”.

 Board Maintained Reference Materials

The Certification Board maintains a small library of study materials that can be used for the Missouri Certification Exam or the NEHA Exam. A lending fee of $100.00; 50% of which will be returned to the candidate after returning all materials in a timely manner and in good condition. NEHA REHS/RS Exam Information

CHANGES to NEHA proctoring requirements: The Mo Board of Certification can proctor the NEHA/REHS exam if there are at least 3 candidates available to sit for the exam. However there is a fee of $350 for 3-10 candidates. Please contact NEHA for testing sites close to your location as this is the most economical option at this time. If anyone is interested in forming a study group for the NEHA exam we can help facilitate. If we have 11 or more candidates sitting for the exam the fee is waived. Stay tuned as NEHA is currently updating their policy and could change again.
